I stumbled upon this article
Architecture's dying art on the
http://washingtontimes.com/..."A computor wants to make a shape or a box. It can't be fluid" This is a statement is only truth for a PERIOD because of technology advancement this handicap will soon be resolved. But I do agree that sketching does forces you to slow down and really seek the sense of discovery. Sadly sketching is really a dying art and these days most of the students would just present their play design sketches in computer aided dwgs & models.

Domain Resort, Sunday, August 05, 2007

I went to Straddie Island couple of weeks ago to stay at Donovan Hill's designed Domain Resort. It's really interesting how the design team had managed to use simple and cheap materials for the entire resort. I especially like the natural lit bathroom with the translucent polycarbonate roofing sheet. I think future archi development and design should steer towards this approach.
